Last Sunday, I participated in a sketching session.
The day before, I packed all my sketching equipment into a carry-on bag and was fully prepared. On the day, we gathered at 11:00, at a building called the Teusler Memorial Hall inside St. Luke's Hospital in Tsukiji.
This quaint building was constructed in 1933 as a missionary house for St. Luke's International Hospital. I was a little surprised to find such a memorial hall inside the hospital.
It was a late autumn holiday and the surrounding area was covered in autumn leaves and lots of fallen leaves.

I usually sketch alone in a place I like and draw freely without worrying about time, but that's not the case with a sketching meet-up.
Together with the other members, we will be finished by 2:30 pm. There are some restrictions. We have to finish almost everything in about two hours.
There are people walking around, so I quickly grab some water, then quickly decide on a sketch spot and start drawing.

I finish one sketch in about an hour, take a photo of the location I sketched with my smartphone, and then eat the lunch I brought with me while thinking about the next point.
The colours evoke the feeling of autumn with the autumn leaves.
The next one I tried drawing vertically. I think it turned out pretty well. By then it was already past 2pm.
There was a place I wanted to draw, so I moved there and finished the last piece in 20 minutes. I managed to complete three pieces.

[Angel's Ticket]
When I got home and stared at the painting, the scene from that time suddenly came back to me.
At that moment, I definitely saw something in the sky .
I saw an angel dropping leaves.
At that time, there was a girl picking up the dead leaves.
Perhaps this child could see the angels too. I found the scene so touching that I filmed it.
This reminded me of my favorite song, Mr. Children's " Autumn Gave Me the Ticket ."
♪Maybe it's some kind of ticket that God gave us.
I decided to add it to the picture.
I drew each leaf one by one using a pen. Then I colored it with watercolors. There was an angel in the sky. And so, I completed another part of my life's work, the "Angel's Journey Series."
I'm glad I didn't give up.
